誰もが認める類い稀な才能と高い技術力で日本の音楽シーンに切り込む男たちがいる。 　　その名は、ロックバンド・King Gnu。 　　今、最も勢いがあり、チケットが取れないバンドの一つとも言っても過言ではないだろう。 　　彼らの存在がより広く知られるきっかけになった楽曲、それは、去年、テレビドラマの主題歌となった「白日」。発売から1年たった今もランキングの上位に位置し、ストリーミングは1億回再生を突破。企業のタイアップ曲を多数手掛け、2019年の紅白歌合戦への出場を果たすなど、デビュー1年余りで破竹の快進撃を続けている。 　　バンドを率いるのは、全ての楽曲制作を手掛ける常田大希（ギター＆ボーカル）。井口理（キーボード＆ボーカル）は、常田と同じ長野県伊那市出身で一つ年下。同い年の新井和輝（ベース）、勢喜遊（ドラム）と2015年に出会い、常田が活動していたバンドSrv.Vinciのメンバーチェンジで現在の4名体制に固まった。 　　いかにもロックバンドマンらしい風貌ではあるが、常田と井口は共に東京藝術大学音楽学部に在学歴がある。しっかりと存在感のあるツインボーカル、リズム隊の高い技術力も合わさり、バンドメンバー4人それぞれが強い個性を放つ。 　　より多くの人に受け入れられるように、つまり、"売れる音楽"を世に出そうと方向性を定め、2017年にバンド名をKing Gnuに改名、2019年1月にメジャーデビューした。 　　趣味や個性はバラバラに見える彼らだが、日頃の仲はひと際良い。メンバーは友達であり、仲間であり、家族であり、ビジネスパートナー。4人にカメラを向けた時のふざけあう姿が印象的だ。 　　音楽を通じて夢を共有しているという彼ら。番組では、去年8月から彼らに密着開始。フェスや全国ツアーで多忙な時期に取材を行った。曲をリリースするごとに益々注目度を増す彼らがこの先に見つめるものとは―。
